Radiesse® is an FDA-approved injectable filler material. It is gel-like material composed primarily of hydroxyapetite, an important component of our bone tissue. As a gel, however, it is soft (not like bone!).
As a filler material, Radiesse® is used to 'fill in' areas of wrinkles or other depressions that would benefit from 'filling out'. At the time of your initial consultation, The Skin Care Clinic doctors will personally evaluate you and determine if you are a good candidate for Radiesse® injection.
How long will results last?
This depends on the area where Radiesse® is injected. In general, the effect should last 12-18 months or so. Of course, these results can vary in individual patients.
The Procedure:
The procedure is performed in the office with topical or local anesthesia. An initial period of swelling is expected and can last a few days. Some patients experience a small amount of bruising in the injected areas.
